Avoid Playing Poker for Living
Without any doubt, I believe everyone will agree if we say poker is the most famous card game. Any casino won’t be completed if they haven’t provided this game yet. Even some people play this game without using any money, just for fun only.
Playing poker is simple. all you have to do is win more pots and avoid losing more money by folding. You can put enormous amount in the pot to scare people with better card to fold. You can increase your winning by increasing the bets so the pots is getting bigger. and so on, all of them look simple, aren’t they? But to be honest, they won’t work as easy as it sounds. Try playing free online poker game in Facebook or other place with real human playing online then you will find the real poker is not like that simple.
one of the most popular free poker game in facebook
This is why although I like poker the most compared to other in family of card games, I won’t recommend people to play it for making money. Its not because nobody making money, in fact there are many professional poker players out there. Its because poker is a game where people mostly drained out their own money and keep losing it no matter what they have done to improve their game play. There are several points that people often forget about poker :
1. NO DEFINED ODDS
Ok, the first one is the major reason here. If you and I play black jack game just both of us, we can say you and I have 50:50 odds of winning. But this kind of rule won’t work in poker. If there are 4 people playing poker on one table, the odds for winning is not 25% for each of them. Because there isn’t any defined global odds of winning, its hard to say which strategy or game plan we can use for winning more money here.
For the same reason too, we can not set target how many that we want to win from poker. For example in Blackjack, Baccarat or Roulette, we know the odds of winning we can imply House of Money strategy, and decide to stand up or walk home after winning certain amount of money. But no way you can do that in poker. If you have done it and succeed, its just a pure luck. When you come to poker table with motivation like “I have to win $ xxx today so tomorrow I can pay my credit card bill or house rent”, that time I think you already half way to lose all your bank roll.
2. TALENT & EXPERIENCE
Because we can’t use any strategy game plan on poker, so its all come back to the person who play it. The odds of winning will depends on the talent and experience each of the players. Amateurs think that they can win if they have good cards or get the big combination at least like flush or full house. The fact is people who win more money are not always the one who have better cards more than the others. Players can make fortune only relying on simple card combinations like two pairs or threes too. So the major difference between amateur and professional players lies in playing the game for the long run with many rounds. Professional players know well how to minimize their lost and maximize their winning. To do this, you really need experience, and now the question is how many you will have won or you will have lost in order to gain those experiences.
Playing poker need those two, talent and experience. Talented people without experience will lose some of their money. Experience player without talent, well they are the cash cow that keep giving their money to the pro players =)) believe me, many people keep playing poker although they keep losing their money. Do you want to be the cash cow or you already become it? If you are already become “cash cow” try to stop playing this game. I will say this harshly but its true, experience player without talent won’t be a professional poker player and will keep losing money from the game.
3. STRONG MONEY MANAGEMENT
Because there is no odds, and we need to manage playing for many rounds, money management will be the issue here. A high emotional person and lack of discipline one won’t manage getting the money here. If normal gambling only need you to have a good proper bank roll, but in poker it won’t be enough. you can lose them all in just one game. You will need to browse and googling a lot learning many tips about setting the bank rolls.
There will be time time when you know this is a bad day and you lose all your bank roll. When that time occurs, its just a bad day, don’t even think you have to revenge it tomorrow. Even professional experienced player have this bad luck too. So you will need to estimate budgeted loses and set them into your bank rolls.
Those are 3 points I want to tell about poker. I prefer recommending other games except poker if you want to make gambling as a living
